Voge tyre sizes and rim widths by model
Front and rear tyre size for twenty-four Voge models, with rim widths where the manual prints them, taken from the parameter table of each owner manual.
When a tyre is worn the size moulded into the sidewall is usually still legible. Where it is not, the figures below are those printed in the parameter table of each model's own owner manual.

A dash indicates that the manual prints the tyre size but not the rim.
Reading a tyre size
Taking 150/70 R17 M/C 69V as the example:
- 150 is the section width in millimetres.
- 70 is the aspect ratio: the sidewall height is 70 per cent of the width.
- R denotes radial construction. The absence of a letter denotes a cross-ply, and ZR denotes a rating above 240 km/h.
- 17 is the rim diameter in inches.
- M/C identifies it as a motorcycle tyre.
- 69 is the load index and V the speed rating.
A replacement must match the size and carry at least the same load index and speed rating. A reduction in either is a defect at the next inspection rather than an economy.
The 300 Rally uses inch sizing
Its manual gives 3.00-21 at the front and 5.10-18 at the rear. This is the older inch notation rather than the metric system used elsewhere in the range: 3.00 is the section width in inches, approximately 76 mm, and 5.10 approximately 130 mm.
A dealer will normally propose the metric equivalent. The substitution offered is preferable to a conversion made independently, because the older notation does not carry the aspect ratio and two tyres of the same nominal width can differ considerably in overall diameter.
The two 21 inch models are not interchangeable
The DS900X and the DS800X Rally both use a 90/90-21 front tyre, which suggests a shared wheel. The rear differs: the DS900X carries 150/70 R17 on a 4.25 x 17 rim and the DS800X Rally 150/70 R18 on a 4.00 x 18. The tyre size reads the same, and the wheels are an inch apart.
Where the 525ACX manual contradicts itself
The 525ACX manual lists a 110/80 R19 front tyre and, several rows later, a 3.50 x 17 front rim. A 19 inch tyre does not mount on a 17 inch rim. The document reads as the 525R manual with adventure wheels substituted and the road rims left in place, so both rim columns are left empty for that model rather than reproduce a figure that cannot be correct. The rim on the motorcycle should be measured directly.
The 650DSX has two rear rim widths
The manual gives 4.50 x 17 for the cast wheel and 4.25 x 17 for the spoked wheel, with the same tyre size on both. The quarter inch difference matters when ordering rim tape, inner tubes or a rim protector.
Points to check before ordering
- The date code on the tyre being replaced. Rubber ages whether or not the motorcycle is used.
- Replacement in pairs where possible. A new front tyre against a worn rear alters how the motorcycle turns.
- The correct inflation pressure is the figure in the manual rather than the maximum moulded into the sidewall.
